Webelos Woods in WNC 8/2-4

WHAT: WEBELOS WOODS 2024 (Daniel Boone Council)

WHEN: August 2-4, 2024
WHO:  Webelos and Arrow of Light Cub Scouts (current Bears & Webelos)
WHERE: Camp Daniel Boone, Canton, NC


WHEN: Our “Fun In The Fun Weekend” runs August 2-4. Check-in is Friday night 5pm-7:30pm. Scouts are responsible for their own meals (purchasing and cooking) with the exception of Saturday lunch which is provided. This is a great opportunity for Webelos and AOLs to work on outdoor cooking skills. Packs should arrive together and designate a vehicle to haul your gear to the campsite. Bringing a trailer is acceptable and the trailer can stay near your campsite; all vehicles must be moved to parking area. There may be “free time” to fish, play yard games, do wrist rockets and Trading Post may be open before the evening program begins at 8:30pm.


COST:
Program = $50 per youth that includes t-shirt, patch, program materials, Saturday lunch and snack. Adult fee is $25 (includes lunch) with an optional $15 for a t-shirt. 
Food = once we know how many will be attending, we'll let everyone know what the cost of food will be. 


REGISTRATION: Early registration includes a t-shirt (for youth) & patch (all); late registration cannot guarantee a patch or a t-shirt. Fees include Saturday lunch which is provided. Early Registration must be postmarked by July 10. Late Registration is from July 11-July 17 and must include a $15 late fee. No registration accepted after July 17. Everyone registers together on the Unit Registration Form (Julie will complete for those that RSVP here.)


Parents do not have to come with every youth, but some adult leadership is expected from the Pack. ALL attending adults must have a current Youth Protection Training. Carpooling will be available for those not having an adult attend the weekend.

12/9 Fire Department Visits

REQUIRED WAIVER FORM FOR ALL SCOUTS We will be breaking into 2 groups for visits to the Wilmington Fire Department on Monday, December 9. They plan to lead us through the bay and station to teach Scouts about the important job firefighters do, as well as highlight how what their typical day looks like, the tools/gear they use, and the importance of fire safety. Additionally, the fire fighters will make sure to highlight fire safety precautions to take when camping, campfires, and wildfires as well.  Groups A and B are listed below. For safety reasons, the fire departments requires that every adult, student, and child attending the tour complete and submit a liability form. They will be collected at the start of the tour. Spring Cub Camp 4/12-14

The whole family is invited to Camp McNeill for a weekend filled with fun programs of rank adventures and shooting sports. Pack 215 will be attending the first weekend: April 12-14 (registration deadline is 4/8 - select First Union for the campsite). There are 2 other weekends that Scouts can attend if they can't make it the first weekend with the Pack.  Eight Adventures will be offered. Typically, Scouts attend their next rank's adventure sessions.
