EOY Trip to South Carolina

WHO: All Pack 215 Scouts and families
WHAT: End-of-Year Trip to South Carolina (Charleston area)
WHEN: Friday, May 9 - Sunday, May 11, 2025
WHERE: Patriots Point/USS Yorktown and camping at Campground at James Island County Park 

COST: includes admission to Patriots Point (on a reduced ground rate), Camp ground fees, and Meals - Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast = $25pp + $19/youth or $24/adult. 

INFORMATION:

  • Admission to Patriots Point will include access to USS Yorktown, USS Laffey, The Vietnam Experience Exhibit, the Medal of Honor Museum, and a privately guided tour for our group.
  • Payments for those attending are due by April 24 via Square. 
Camping:
  • 20 minutes away from Patriots Point 
  • Campground at James Island County Park 
  • Free parking; 10 cars in campsite and then there’s overflow parking 
  • Primitive camping site - no cabins available
  • Bath house is a short walk from the sites
Food:
  • Sat Breakfast = Pancakes and sausages
  • Sat Lunch = Deli sandwiches and chips 
  • Sat Dinner = Walking tacos 
  • Sun Breakfast = grab and go

12/9 Fire Department Visits

REQUIRED WAIVER FORM FOR ALL SCOUTS We will be breaking into 2 groups for visits to the Wilmington Fire Department on Monday, December 9. They plan to lead us through the bay and station to teach Scouts about the important job firefighters do, as well as highlight how what their typical day looks like, the tools/gear they use, and the importance of fire safety. Additionally, the fire fighters will make sure to highlight fire safety precautions to take when camping, campfires, and wildfires as well.  Groups A and B are listed below. For safety reasons, the fire departments requires that every adult, student, and child attending the tour complete and submit a liability form. They will be collected at the start of the tour. Please find the form attached. Each participant must bring a signed form to the tour, or we may not be able to allow them to participate. Pinewood Derby Information - 2/8 & 3/8

Build Day: We will have tools available for Scouts to come have their car kit cut out on Saturday, February 8 from 1-3pm. We will be located behind the Parish Hall building at the back garage. This is a drop in event for time with the tools available. We'll also have a few cut examples and templates. All car decorating should be done at home over the following month before the Race Day. All racers will need to purchase a car kit from the Cape Fear Scout Shop ($7) although the Pack will have a few extras as well. Race Day: We will host this year’s Pinewood Derby on Saturday afternoon, March 8. The derby will be hosted in the St Mark Catholic School gym. The track will be set up and ready for an afternoon of fun!!
