Pack 215 Announcements & Happenings

  Camp Daniel Boone 3647 Little East Fork Road Canton, NC 28716 This is a weekend event that is very similar to Cub Camp weekends at Camp McNeill, but it'll be at Camp Daniel Boone in the western NC mountains. The largest difference is that the weekend is very structured compared to how McNeill does theirs. The Scouts are split into patrols by their den/rank so that they're with others of their same age group throughout Saturday. The patrols move from station to station together on a timed rotation. Every station is covered with an instructor (and typically the instructors are adult leaders rather than troop level scouts). There's a campfire program Saturday evening as well.  Camp Daniel Boone is a 6 hour drive from Wilmington, so that's something to think through. Friday night will just be arrival and setting up camp so if you arrive later in the evening/night, your Scout won't have missed anything. Cards and money can be turned in prior to May 4 if you've sold all signed out to you. You can also pick up more cards if you can keep selling! The sale will run until May 1, 2026. Cards will be distributed March 2nd.  A camp/adventure card is sold for $5.00 and the commission for each one sold is $2.50, which comes to the pack to help with pack event and materials funding. SCOUT & PARENT COMMITMENT TO SELL: Camp Card sales run from March 1 through May 1, 2026. All unsold cards and money are due no later than Monday, May 4. Unsold cards are the responsibility of the Scout and parent to turn in by the due date or they will be added to the Scout’s balance due ($2.50 per card). Unsold cards must be returned in new condition. Broken cards will not be accepted and will be charged to the Scout’s balance due.    

Build Day: We will have tools available for Scouts to come have their car kit cut out on Saturday, February 21 from 1-3pm . We will be located behind the Parish Hall building at the back garage. This is a drop in event for time with the tools available. We'll also have a few cut examples and templates. All car decorating should be done at home over the following few weeks before the Race Day. All racers will need to purchase a car kit from the Cape Fear Scout Shop ($7) although the Pack will have a few extras as well. Race Day: We will host this year’s Pinewood Derby on Saturday afternoon, March 7 . The derby will be hosted in the St Mark Catholic School gym. The track will be set up and ready for an afternoon of fun!! Don't forget to bring items to the B&G Banquet!

Pack 215 holds a special awards night in celebration of the Cub Scout birthday in February each year. The banquet may be organized as a birthday party with special awards being given in addition to the normal Scout awards. The AOL crossover will also be during the banquet. All Scouts and their immediate and extended families are invited to attend!  This year, the Blue & Gold Banquet will be held on Monday, February 23 from 6-8pm in the St Mark Parish Hall. To cover the cost of food and decorations, there is a $15 per person charge . Our theme will be Under the Sea. We'll have pizza, cupcakes, drinks, and other "themed" foods.  Please update your RSVP on the B&G Banquet tab on our RSVP document ASAP.

Hello Pack 215! Our meeting this evening has been cancelled due to the inclement weather. We hope everyone is staying safe and warm and enjoying what's left of the snow! Our planning meeting scheduled for this Thursday, February 5 has been postponed by 1 week, moving it to Thursday, February 12th at 6pm.  If you have not already paid your 2026 Pack dues, it is now officially late.
