Pack 215 Announcements & Happenings

What : Coastal District Pinewood Derby. Who : All Cub Scouts are welcome to bring their cars and race against others regardless of Pack Race placement. When : Sunday, May 3, 2026 - Check-in is at 1:00pm. Racing will start at 2:00pm with awards immediately following. Where : Jungle Rapids 5320 Oleander Dr in Wilmington Cost : $5 per racer Registration will close 4/29 11:59pm. Cancellations will be allowed online until registration closes (no cancellations after 4/29). A complete list of rules is attached in the "Leader's Guide" which can be downloaded on the registration page.

The whole family is invited to Camp McNeill for a weekend filled with fun programs of rank adventures and shooting sports. Pack 215 will be attending the first weekend: April 10-12 (registration deadline is 4/2 - select First Union for the campsite). There are 2 other weekends that Scouts can attend if they can't make it the first weekend with the Pack. 4/17-19 and 4/24-26. Keep in mind that 4/24-26 is the same weekend as Cub Parent Weekend in Western NC.  Registration Fees: Scouts – $60.00 Siblings & Parents – $40.00 Registration Don't forget to respond on the RSVP document so we know who'll be attending and when.

  Camp Daniel Boone 3647 Little East Fork Road Canton, NC 28716 This is a weekend event that is very similar to Cub Camp weekends at Camp McNeill, but it'll be at Camp Daniel Boone in the western NC mountains. The largest difference is that the weekend is very structured compared to how McNeill does theirs. The Scouts are split into patrols by their den/rank so that they're with others of their same age group throughout Saturday. The patrols move from station to station together on a timed rotation. Every station is covered with an instructor (and typically the instructors are adult leaders rather than troop level scouts). There's a campfire program Saturday evening as well.  Camp Daniel Boone is a 6 hour drive from Wilmington, so that's something to think through. Friday night will just be arrival and setting up camp so if you arrive later in the evening/night, your Scout won't have missed anything. The programming will be Saturday starting at 12noon through Sunday...

Cards and money can be turned in prior to May 4 if you've sold all signed out to you. You can also pick up more cards if you can keep selling! The sale will run until May 1, 2026. Cards will be distributed March 2nd.  A camp/adventure card is sold for $5.00 and the commission for each one sold is $2.50, which comes to the pack to help with pack event and materials funding. SCOUT & PARENT COMMITMENT TO SELL: Camp Card sales run from March 1 through May 1, 2026. All unsold cards and money are due no later than Monday, May 4. Unsold cards are the responsibility of the Scout and parent to turn in by the due date or they will be added to the Scout’s balance due ($2.50 per card). Unsold cards must be returned in new condition. Broken cards will not be accepted and will be charged to the Scout’s balance due.
